Vidalia onions, aka Yellow Granex PRR Hybrid onions, are a sweet variety of onions that are grown in the Vidalia region of Georgia, USA. They are typically planted in the fall and harvested in late spring or early summer. They prefer well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.5 and total sun exposure. It is important to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, as this can lead to bulb rot. The ideal temperature for growing Vidalia onions is 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Be sure to keep the area weed-free. In June, once the onions have been harvested, cure them by laying them out in a single layer in a warm, dry place for 2 weeks. After curing, store the onions in a cool, dark place with good air circulation for up to 4 months.
