About Worldly Seeds
From Seed Store to Seed Knowledge Hub
Worldly Seeds began in 2021 as a seed store. The store grew quickly, and for several years it gave us direct experience with garden seeds, customer questions, seed categories, order fulfillment, and the practical details that matter to growers.
After years of packing and shipping hundreds of seed orders, we decided to close the store side of the business and rebuild Worldly Seeds into something more useful long term: a seed information website designed to help people discover, understand, and compare seed types before buying.
Our Story
Worldly Seeds started in 2021 as an online seed store. It went well for several years. The store grew, customers kept ordering, and each season brought more work, more seed categories, and more daily fulfillment.
That growth was a good problem, but it became a real time problem. Packing and shipping hundreds of orders every day kept us tied to the shop. It left less room for travel, family, camping, fishing, and time in our own home garden.
We considered hiring people to help run the operation, but the more we thought about it, the more obvious it became that the business would still need daily oversight. Even with help, we would still be in the shop managing orders, inventory, packaging, customer issues, and operations.
Closing the store was not the easy decision, but it was the right decision for the life we wanted to live.
Why Worldly Seeds Changed
After closing the store, we did not want Worldly Seeds to end. By that point, we had built real knowledge around seed types, seed categories, customer search behavior, growing interests, and the way people look for seeds online.
At first, we considered turning Worldly Seeds into a simple gardening blog. But a blog alone did not feel useful enough. Gardeners and growers are often looking for something more structured. They want to browse seeds by type, understand what each seed is, learn how categories fit together, and discover options they may not have known existed.
That led to the current version of Worldly Seeds: an informative seed website built around discovery, organization, and practical seed knowledge.
What Worldly Seeds Does Now
Worldly Seeds is no longer focused on fulfilling seed orders directly. Instead, the website is built to help visitors explore seed categories and learn about seed types before making buying or planting decisions.
Our goal is to create clear, useful overview pages for vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, trees, grass, and related seed groups. Each section is designed to help visitors understand what exists, how seed types are organized, and what to consider before growing.
Instead of forcing visitors to dig through scattered information, Worldly Seeds is being built as a structured seed discovery resource.

Our Seed Categories
Worldly Seeds is organized around the major seed groups people search for most often. Each category is built to help visitors move from broad seed discovery into specific seed types.
Our main seed sections include:
- Vegetable Seeds: common garden vegetables, leafy crops, root crops, fruiting vegetables, brassicas, legumes, and more.
- Fruit Seeds: orchard fruits, tropical fruits, melons, berries, citrus-type fruits, uncommon fruits, and edible landscape options.
- Herb Seeds: culinary herbs, tea herbs, aromatic herbs, medicinal-style garden herbs, and specialty herb categories.
- Flower Seeds: annual flowers, perennial flowers, pollinator flowers, cut flowers, wildflowers, climbing flowers, and color-based flower groups.
- Tree Seeds: conifers, deciduous trees, edible fruit and nut trees, hardwood trees, shade trees, flowering trees, ornamental fruit trees, and evergreen leaf trees.
- Grass Seeds: lawn grass, native grass seed, ornamental grass, and pasture grass categories.
Our Approach
Worldly Seeds is built around the idea that seed information should be easy to browse. Many people know they want to grow something, but they may not know the exact seed type, category, or growing direction they should start with.
That is why our pages are structured around both discovery and education. A visitor can begin with a broad group like fruit seeds, tree seeds, or grass seeds, then move deeper into specific seed categories and seed types.
We try to keep the information practical, organized, and useful for real people who are planning gardens, yards, landscapes, food gardens, orchards, lawns, or long-term growing projects.
Why This Matters
Seeds are easy to underestimate. A seed can become a tomato plant, a basil plant, a wildflower patch, a fruit tree, a shade tree, a lawn, or a native grass planting. But choosing the right seed starts with understanding what it is and how it fits your space.
Worldly Seeds exists to make that first step easier. Whether someone is growing food, adding flowers, starting herbs, exploring trees, building a lawn, planting native grass, or simply learning what seed types exist, the goal is to provide a better starting point.
What We Believe
We believe gardens should support the life people actually want to live. For us, that means spending more time outdoors, traveling, fishing, camping, being with family, and caring for our own home garden.
The original Worldly Seeds store taught us a lot, but it also showed us how quickly a business can take over the time that made the business meaningful in the first place. This website is our way of keeping the knowledge, keeping the brand, and making Worldly Seeds useful without returning to the daily shop grind.
The result is a site built for growers, gardeners, homeowners, homesteaders, landscapers, and curious people who want to learn more about seeds before they plant.
Important Note
Worldly Seeds provides general seed and gardening information. Growing results vary by climate, soil, season, water, sunlight, pests, seed quality, local conditions, and garden care.
Visitors should always check local growing guidance, seed seller instructions, invasive species rules, plant restrictions, and regional recommendations before buying or planting seeds.
